Oval bars
No, your eyes are not deceiving you; all Oval Concepts sponsored teams ARE riding 26.0mm "standard" sized bars and stems.
My personal (and therefore our company) philosophy is that "Oversized = Fatter, Heavier, Slower". There is no reason to add more weight or frontal area to your road bike and the Pros know it.
The Oversized 31.8mm "standard" is a bad Italian fashion developed when the Italians did not have the efficient butting and swedging technology to offer a safe, reasonably priced, 220 gram road bar. Now that everyone has high quality, reasonably price, triple butted alloy bars made in Asia, and good companies make good carbon fibre road bars in 26.0, O/S 31.8 should die - at least for road bikes.
The strange thing is that all our sponsored teams since the company was founded, including Silence-Lotto, Slipstream and even the old Liberty Seguros squad asked for 26.0. We make both sizes as the market right now demands both sizes but I did not ask nor demand that our teams use either size.
Big Magnus Backstedt is not afraid of breaking his Oval 26.0 bars and stems on his TT bike for the Tour or his road bike for Paris-Roubaix. Robbie McEwen demands bars that are super stiff for his incredible power sprints and he loves our R701 classic bend bars in 26.0. I repeat - there is no reason to add more weight or frontal area to your road bike and the Pros know it.

- priemer 31 je len na dost malej dlzke(iked najpodstatnejsej) volantu a potom sa zuzuje, takze ak nebude na okrajoch menej materialu, budu tie o 15%tazsie bez vyrazneho narastu tuhosti- vonkasi priemer bude vzdy 22mm
- myslim ze pri volante nedochadza len k ohybu ale aj napr smyku, kde rozhoduje skor plocha prierezu a aj otlaceniu(od uzaveru predstavca) a dalsim kombinaciam namahani
- v praxi treba trubku napriklad do vacsieho obvodu roztiahnut(nie pri karbone) z povodnych cca 69mm na cca 100mm
- vacsi primer riadidiel nutne vyzaduje aj vacsi priemer objimky na predstavci, cim sa zvysuje nielen hmotnost ale aj moznost vzniku viacerych nedokonalosti- zliatina nemusi byt homogenna a teda moze v roznych miestach obsahovat akoby kazy- vznikaju oslabene prierezy a tych bude na dlhsom prvku vzdy viac ako na kratsom.
Priklad bol iba zjednoduseny, ak by som to komplikoval este zuzenim prierezu do stran, tak uz by to bolo uplne neprehladne ten vypocet...Ale ak si mal pruznost, tak si pamatas, ze najvacsie napatie pri ohybe je prave v mieste votknutia (do predstavca), priebeh napatia od votknutia do konca nosnika ma cca exponencialny (oprava - linearny) priebeh, to teda nahrava v prospech hmotnosti, kedze na dosiahnutie vacsej tuhosti staci dat vacsi priemer blizko votknutia...Na volnom konci je vacsi priemer zbytocny, kedze je tam uz nulove ohybove napatie.
S tym otlacenim mas pravdu, ak budem mat na velkom priemere tenku stenu, lahsie sa zborti pod tlakom, napriklad v predstavci, preto tuto oblast vacsinou este spevnuju niecim...
to Dudo: s karbonom je to uplne rovnako, akurat modul pruzosti E (vid priklad) uz nieje len nejake ciselko, ako je tomu pri klasickej oceli, ale je to trochu komplikovanejsia matica, pretoze v karbone sa napatie siri v kazdom smere inak. Pomerne komplikovane sa robia analiticke vypocty pre kompozity a obvzlast pre laminaty (karbon,sklolaminat,...).
Ku rajdom OS/nieOS co xces kupit...Ak maju tie karbonove OS rajdy rovnaku hrubku steny, tak potom budu mat vacsiu tuhost a pri rovnakom materialy mierne vacsiu hmotnost...Ale ak tie tensie budu mat nejake extra tuhe a pevne vlakna a o cosi vacsiu hrubku steny, tak sa kludne mozu OS/neOS vyrovnat tuhostou ale taktiez aj hmotnostou...
(to je ako ten princ, co si vyberal nevestu (mudru, peknu, stihlu)... a aj tak si nakoniec vybral tu s najvacsimi kozami...
Dudo a prečo chceš karbónové "kormany"? Ti nestačí že máš kopec škaredého karbónu pod ricu?
